Blighted Gig @ The Shed with dancers!

Blighted performed a thoroughly enjoyable gig at The Shed, in Leicester, on Saturday the 28th of May. The rock covers band played 10 songs including;

Born to be wild; Day Tripper; Sunshine of your Love; Lil' Devil; Pounding; Take me out; Summer of 69; Johnny be Good; and in true Blighted style, ended with a fantastic rendition of Wishing Well.

There were four bands on at the 'Soundman's Choice Night' and the evening kicked off with band: 'Today in Greece' who are a mixture of violins, morbid lyrics, and rock and roll. They performed a mini set and paved the way for the performances of the other bands.

‘Blighted’ were the second band on for the evening, their half hour set was received by rapturous applause, whooping and excellent dancing from the members of the band ‘Fingertrap’. This was the second gig that Pete, Amy, Tom, Darryl, and Kev had performed as Blighted, and it showed that months of practice had definitely paid off!

‘Fingertrap’ were knackered by the time they had to start their set, or so they said. Their energetic dance moves were a mere warm up. They performed a set of their own written songs, song rocks tracks, and some good old rock ballads.

Unfortunately for the last band, Larusso, a lot of people had already started to leave, mainly due to the hours ticking away. Larusso were a good rock band, and performed well. Apparently they ‘were nearly signed to an American label’ recently.

One can’t help but feeling that with some good promotion by The Shed, this and other nights could be a lot more popular… Maybe a little advertisement etc would help?

Hopefully you'll all come to our next gig! Keep checking on http://www.blighted.co.uk   for more details!

Cheers
